Generally, I was either shrouded in darkness or off in a very private spot.

There was the incident with the boat of Greek fisherman, but I'll never see them again. They all waved from their boat.

i was thinking that, i don't know you, but i don't think you'd do it at a popular beach, like in lake michigan or something (sorry, don't know which lake you're closest too, if any).

I bet you made those fishermen's day. :-)

33. Oh, it was a popular beach
at a Provincial campground. It just wasn't a really warm day. (There had been frost on the ground in the morning.) We found a place sheltered by high grasses that was much warmer. You're so much crazier when you're 16.

My first exposure to topless tanning was at a regular public beach at a lake. OK, my friend and I were the only ones there (it was an unusually cold June.) That is until the birdwatcher showed up.

We were semi-clothed when he showed up. (Semi-clothed = pretending our underwear was a bathing suit - we hadn't planned on a beach outing.)

18. They're not Progressive anymore
Once upon a time, there was a Conservative party. Somewhere along the line they became the Progressive Conservative party. I'm not sure why, my guess, marketing ploy.

Then there was a PM called Mulroney, who killed the PC party. It fractured. It became two parties, PC's and Reform.

The Reform Party changed their name too. They became the Alliance Party, again not sure why.

The two conservative parties realized that they had no hope of achieving federal power when the right was splintered. They began talks to reunite. They almost called themselves the "Canadian Reform Alliance Party." Yes, that's right CRAP. Cooler heads prevailed and they settled on plain old Conservative Party.

They didn't regain power, but the united party did allow for Canadians to spank the naughty, scandal-ridden liberal party - a minority government.

End of today's lesson.

19. The P.Cs were swallowed up by the Canadian Alliance (right wing) party
BUT....they will never govern Canada....They will always be a minority...We are just NOT inclined in that direction....Our governing party is the Liberal Party of Canada....Can you imagine anything so bold? A party actually calling itself "liberal"?...In the USA that's a dirty word, I know....I wish you the best and pray Kerry is elected to replace the moron in the White House....:)

Not familiar with the brand. I'm not much of a beer person. I like wheat beer and Corona.

Last time I was in an Irish pub, I ordered a Guinness. Big mistake. I followed it with a root beer chaser. The bartender was equally horrified and amused.

So I had no choice.

Barrie was boarding school (just for six weeks on account I got kicked out of summer school)
Moncton was a French immersion program
Trois riveries was Universite Du quebec, again for French
Woodstock was journalism school
Gabriola was my internship - loved that place
Alberta and this lil town are strictly professional - it's like god himseld said you can't be a reporter in Vancouver unless you do him a personal favour.

45. I was on a red-eye coming back from Hawaii when I was 11
I looked older.

I had wondered upstairs on the 747 and started talking to this guy. (He was 18) We had dinner together. He was telling me about all the great places to buy 'weed' on the islands. Being a pretty straight-laced 11 year old, I freaked out (in a dignified way) and excused myself.

A while later I ran into him. You could still smoke on planes in those days. He had. He did some more. He then proceeded to stumble down the aisle of the plane yelling out my name. It was 4:00 am. I hid behind my in-flight magazine. He didn't see me and passed by. I got up to hide in the bathroom for the rest of the flight. He turned around and saw me. I was stuck in a conversation with him for a while. The whole cabin by this time was awake and watching. My dad, was flipping out. A truly lovely childhood memory.

48. Flu vaccine?
Do you have access to it? (anticipating a positive response, I go green with envy)

I am caregiver to my 80 year old Dad, and a severely asthmatic brother, and am scared to death as I ponder how we are going to get through the winter. Heating is also going to skyrocket.....I'm thinking I am going to have to do a "michael jackson thing" with the surgical mask in order to keep microbes out of the house, and out of me, because if I get sick, heaven help us.

Despite the "assurances" that everything is okay, I fear that many people are going to get very sick and many will die -- and there will be nothing to do except just watch them die. And we can't even think about suing the fucking pharmaceutical company for screwing up, or the government for totally fucking up here -- yet again, like they have fucked everything else up.

Terrorism? Very very very slight chance of occurence. But death from respiratory disease in my family this winter? Likely....
