The yellow ribbon magnets:
Are these commissioned by a veteran's organization? Or some capitalist profiting off the patriotism of Muricans? I tend to believe the latter versus the former...

1. That would be................
"some Capitalist profiting off the patriotism of Murkins". I've often pointed this out to people. They seem to think the money is going to some Veterans' group or even to the servicemen themselves. What idiots.
I always tell people "that there's plenty of money to be made at the expense of people's patriotism".

3. I have one on my car..
...i bought it from a lady who was selling them as a fundraiser for the boy scouts or a church group or something .

I presume someone is making money off them, but the price i paid was partly going to charity, so no big deal.

4. There are a lot of "Support Our Troops" ribbons on Long Island, but...
I wish someone would make one that said, "Support Our Troops ... Bring Them Home."

6. I made one myself. I took the magnet and wrote "Bring Them Home"
on the opposite ribbon end with a sharpie. I love taking these types of things and recreating them. I took an Old Navy Flag shirt and stenciled, "My Flag Too, Mr Bush" underneath it. :hi:

11. Veterans' groups are selling them in my home town, and the profits...
are being used to send care boxes to local troops.

I have one on my car, right under my pro-Kerry stickers.

16. My father (who is not a rabid politico) just mentioned this to me this
afternoon. He said it seems almost as if they are a political statement because they are popping up all over. I am glad that I've got one on my car.
