Also, 'Count of Monte Cristo', they butchered the book by Dumas so bad, it was unbearable to watch.

I had happily forgotten about this piece of crap.
And someone else mentioned Jersey Girl. The pitfall of seeing everything that comes out is that you sit through a lot of shit. What the hell is the matter with Ben Affleck? Hopefully, now that he's free of the evil JLo curse, he'll put out something decent. I'm not willing to give up on him just yet.....

18. "SAW"
I got a pass for a screening of this piece of crap. It's official release is on Oct.29th. Avoid. To add insult to injury I just found out that on the same night of the "Saw" screening there was also a screening of "The Machinist" which is directed by Brad Anderson, an independent director whom I love. Oh, and Brad was AT the screening. I missed it all while sitting through "Saw" a derivative and imitative piece of poorly acted shit.

...and I went out in the pouring rain to see it. It was the week of Hurricane Jeanne. It was one of those movies where as you watch it you start to keep a list in your head of all the movies it ripped off. I really wish I could tell you it was any good but I'd be lying. I think The Onions movie reviewer summed the film up perfectly. All the good reviews make no sense to me whatsoever.

...and after I found out that I'd missed Brad Anderson. If you don't know who he is, you will when his latest movie comes out.

If this movie turns out to be a clunker then I'm just going to give up but I don't think it will be. I've liked everything else he's done.

28. Far From Heaven annoyed me
I mean, I know he was going for an update of a Douglas Sirk-type weepie - and the acting was good, and the cinematography and art direction were great, but what an idiotic story, with people reacting in utterly unnatural manners! Waste of celluloid.

19. As soon as the remake of Planet of the Apes was over in the theater...
...I started cussing at the screen. I was not the only person in the theater who felt that way, either.

They didn't just do a bad remake. They absolutely DESPOILED the whole idea of the original movie. I must have complained about that POS movie for weeks after we saw it.

32. Kill Bill or anything else by Tarantulatino.
Day After Tomorrow was an average disaster film with above-average effects.

Why not judge a film by its genre, rather than picking on a recent example of a genre you probably hate?

Emmerich has been annoying film snobs ever since Independence Day. Sure, the acronym "ID4" and the streamlined Godzilla were heresies, but this is just piling on.

49. So did I....until I saw it again.
I saw Pulp Fiction years ago, and we all rushed out to rent Reservoir Dogs. We were all VERY disappointed LOL.

But, when I saw it again I appreciated it from the standpoint of it being Tarantino's first movie. And, it's kind of more interesting plotwise too if you try to remember that the Michael Madsen character is John Travolta's character's brother. :)

But it's not as bad as I once thought it was.
