It's a perfect world, (other than the fact that you're stranded) so let's just say that money is not a problem.

I'm torn between Manhattan, Bora Bora and Maui myself, but I'm choosing Maui. Yes, Maui.

4. Any island where I can be guaranteed of being alone.
People are no goddamn good, and I don't care to see another person as long as I live.

A New Yorker's view of the world. Yes, Virginia, there is life outside of Manhattan. Although, it's a fine place if you have some $$

10. Yeah, I think Manhattan.
Hawaii is beautiful, but I'm an East Coast girl. I couldn't live in paradise with no city filth for 2 years, I'd go crazy.

23. Something warm, isolated, and almost deserted.
I posted a thread a few months back ( http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=1151385 ) expressing a large amount of frustration in life and just wishing to get away from it all. Now, more than ever, I feel the same way. Don't want a crowd though. Just maybe one other person to come with me at this point in time. I don't need to be pampered (willing to build a mud hut, fish, etc.). I just need to fly away right now and avoid civilization and the majority of humanity for a few decades. :grr:

24. Maui No Ka Oi

Maui Nö Ka `Oi - by Rev. Samuel Kapu

Hanohano launa `ole
A`o Maui la i ka la`i
Ha`aheo na kualono
A`o Maui no lä ka `oi

Hui:
`A`ohe lua e like ai
Mahiehie launa `ole
Hia`ai wale Haleakalä
A `o Maui nö lä ka 'oi

Makemake e `ike aku
A i ka ua Lani Ha`aha`a
Me ka wai anapanapa
A`o Maui no la ka `oi

Famous, unbeatable
Is Maui in the calm
Haughty mountain ridges
Proclaim Maui the best

Chorus:
There is none like you
Charming beyond compare
Delighting in Haleakala
Maui you are the best

I desire the sight
Of the rain Lani Ha`aha`a
With its sparkling waters
Maui is the best
