Adorable--and I'm glad I have some!

My gay friends thought it was funny, but that's because they both love me. Were they kidding and do they really think it's kind of offensive (what with the picking out clothes and crying at movies)?
They said no--but just curious what other gay guys think.

I wouldn't protest the video or anything, but as to 'reclaiming' pejoratives, it never works as the process is intended. All it does is create a situation where Spike Testosteroonio calls someone a faggot and then says "Duh it's OK, they call themselves that!"

I'm only 50, but queer and faggot nearly destroyed me at a very vunerable time in my teenage years and I really have no interest in "reclaiming" them. But, once again, I speak only for myself and a bunch of older guys. The dynamic of being homosexual is changing, slowly in some cases, more rapidly in others.

Thank God, most young guys coming up now will never know how it feels to be considered an "untouchable". Thirty years ago, homosexuality was considered a mental illness (See "Everything you wanted to know about sex but were afraid to ask"). That was the most openminded publication of the day, and it said we were basically perverts. Judging someone based on sexuality is just absurd.
