It was climbing the charts during my senior year in high school, when I was on the staff of my school's radio station - WJSV-FM, Morristown NJ. I was in the anteroom outside the studio one afternoon, waiting to start my show - a sophomore was running the board, and played that song.

When the record ended, he turned on the microphone and said, "Ya know, I have no idea what a toke is - if you know, please call me at 267-9040." And then he started the next record.

I opened the studio door and said, "You honestly don't know?"

Me: "Well, a toke is a drag off a marijuana cigarette."
