OK. Let me know if I'm crazy or paranoid |

but I've been coming here for almost two years and just recently I've noticed what I believe is a new trend: freeper threads started by names I don't recognize but with a high number of posts. Are the post counts being rigged? Are these the new trolls? Like I say, I don't recognize the names and the posts are definitely freeper. One post last week was a 9-11 retread from a couple of months ago with the same subject line. The thread was a flash presentation of Republican talking points. Today there was a post extolling a Jonah Goldberg article. (it's been pulled). I think the mods need to check into the post counts.

regular. If you have the stomach, go to their website. But, go forewarned, it's like the Springer show, only the posters aren't as educated or well-mannered. Scary place.

Thanks, I'll pass, I get enough up here in the emotional wilderness of upstate NewYork. I'm sure I work with people who are in secret militias. Scares me no end. They vote against their own self-interest: How long do they think that they're going to be paid $65K+(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) for delivering the mail under a Repug thug fascist state? Brain dead, and therefore dangerous, whimmies (whiteheteromales)

4. I've noticed the same phenomenon |
|
I'm a bit of a freeper slayer. I can smell them a mile away. If I don't engage them in conversation, I just hit the alert and ignore them.
But I can think of a few recently (jagguy) that managed to post in the hundreds before earning his tombstone. It is getting VERY weird around here.

8. They post in other forums |

There is no jigging with the post counts. They can rack up a couple hundred posts in a couple threads that we never see. Hell, when I read LBN and Editorials I hardly recognize any of the names - but they've been around longer than I have.
I had one newbie bug the CRAP outta me with unwanted emails and PM's who racked up over 1,000 posts in less than 3 weeks. She did most of that in the Israel/Palestine Forum. I never go there – many of us don’t. She has since been banned .
To answer your question, I don’t know whether you are crazy or paranoid or not. If you are, it has nothing to do with rigged post counts. :D There does seem to be more disruption though. That’s an issue to run by Admin.
I know the thread you are talking about that got pulled today that was presented with freeper talking points. I had a reference to that sucker and it disappeared while I was responding to someone about it. Sucker vanished. Just as well –it was crap.

some DUers help them - it"s not all that rare to see a Freeper-type get into a flame war and rack up 100+ posts on some stupid topic.
I don't pay that much attention, but I think the rules on posting (starting) a thread changed, and it's easier for nutjobs to start stuff that will devolve to flame wars, and that's how they get the numbers.
whatever. it's not my board. I read what interests me; ignore the flame wars, and anything that doesn't interest me. Post when I've something to say.

10. Why do you insist on making it an either/or choice??? |
|
I've noticed the same thing- some folks who have the >1K note have absolutely blown my mind- can't help but think "who the hell IS this person, why haven't I seen him/her before and HOW the fuck have they gotten this far???
