Schilling- God Is On The Red Sox's Side!!! Does That Mean
The Yankees are evil? His post game interview took a little of the buzz off my celebration. I hate it when athletes claim God is on their side.

2. Irks me to no end.
IT'S A FUCKING GAME!

If a scientist develops an effective AIDS vaccine and says "God was on my side" I may understand it but a FUCKING GAME???

9. Even that would piss me off.
OK, so God was on your side when your came across the AIDS vaccine -- where the {expletive deleted} was he before it was found.

That's almost as annoying as hearing tornado survivors talk about how God was on their side.

10. Wow. THAT takes the prize.
I consider that a personal insult to the families of those who died. It's as if they were saying, "YOUR family died because they didn't praise JEEBUS enough!"

13. Absolutely.
I've never understood that "praise the power when something goes right" but "make excuses or ignore it when things go wrong" attitude."

12. It's clear who the Devil has been working for since the 20s.
So, it would stand to reason.

15. It was an uber hokey moment
Like most athletes, Schilling ceases to be interesting when he opens his mouth.

16. Curt's Press Conference
Sounded alot more sincere. Clearly his faith means quite a bit to him. who are we to question that? If he wants to credit God w/ giving him the strength to compete, that's just fine w/ an old atheist like me.
