Stop the madness - enough baseball
You throw the ball.
You catch the ball.
You hit the ball.

And then someone keeps stats on all of the above.

1. Beautiful in it's simplicity isn't it?
:-)

Much like hockey: You shoot the puck, you pass the puck, you make a save, and if you don't - someone beats the shit outta the guy that shot the puck.

2. why say enough baseball?
it's the post season and the games are great. So why should we not discuss baseball now? I could understand if it was January but it is October for crying out loud.

3. I'm starting to think that we need a separate
sports forum. It is getting a bit crowded in the lounge these days.

You're right. But I'm glad there are so many baseball fans at DU. It's the American pastime; shows what great patriots we are.

9. We need baseball or hockey or basketball or football as DIVERSIONS!
My family is very involved emotionally and cerebrally in the state of politics in my country, your country and the world....But we also can have fun with our favourite sports teams!....I think that's important in order that you keep your balance....This is just my opinion...:)

They showed a game from it on TSN today. It was cool to see Orr, Lafluer, Sittler play.

11. it's much better if your own team is involved.
If my Marlins were in it, i'd be estatic right now and greatly sleep deprived. Though this yankees-red sox series is something to behold. Doesn't get much better, unless of course the Marlins are involved! ;-)

and how the ball is round and the bat is round and you try to hit it square

baseball is the greatest sport, bar none.

see 911 / burned grilled cheese thread

I love going to see the Canadians. Nat Bailey is the prettiest little ballpark in the world - so they say. It's live though - completely different experience.
