My Fellow Yankees Fans, Let The Red Sox Fans Rejoice
They've earned it. Their team fought back hard to force a Game 7. Let them rejoice. They have every right to crow about their victory tonight. Every right.

So, sit back and just let the game take care of itself. For tomorrow, once and for all, we'll know if there really is a curse or not.

3. I agree, think it should have been quick and painless.
Isn't it "cute" hearing Sox fans calling Yankees overpaid? We all are familiar with the Red Sox story, not only are they playing baseball on a volunteer basis, they even have a different team week-to-week, picking needy kids from disadvantaged neighborhoods.

5. I've always found that hypocritical btw
When I criticize the Yankees for getting everyone, you're hearing the Baltimore fan in me.

7. Understood - still, if you want Baltimore angst, think 1969,
Jets beat the Colts, Mets beat the Orioles - think there was even a minor hit about it "God must live in New York City" or something like that.

8. You had to remind me eh
Fucking Miracle Mets. It's 1996 because I was alive, wasnt in '69 that makes me hate the Yankees and seeing your ace go there too hurts even though it is your owner's fault. Now back to 1969, the Baltimore Bullets were also defeated by the New York Knicks in basketball, fortunely though for the birds, they won in the next season but damnit, those stupid mets and hodges stole a good chance for Weaver to get another ring, and in a way I have hostility towards the pirates for the same thing, though ironically in football I am a steelers fan.

10. Its cool
and though I would love to see nothing more to see the Yankees have a year like the '62 Mets, I admit it is quite hypocritical for Sox Fans to say the Yanks are too big and pricy because they pursue the same free agents often enough, it's still good vs evil though :D, who said good can't be wealthy, now I agree it's not like a labor union against John Rockefeller or Andrew Carnegie.

I really think this whole series will humanize the yankees, yes I know they can lose and have been swept even before but I think they need to suffer like everyone else does, heh sorry, I admit I hate them but I'll give you I wuoldn't hate them as much if it weren't for Steinbrenner.

17. As a KC Royals fan, I too hate the Yankees,
but Steinbrenner? Try having a giant corporation own your team that only cares about the bottom line and nothing about winning and sells unused tickets to a subsidiary to re-sell at inflated prices (like the Cubs), or a partnership that slightly cares more, but still puts profits ahead of winning.(White Sox)

Then listen to them both whine that they won't spend the money because the fans don't support them enough. (June thru Sept. in Chicago)

I think I'd much rather have an ownership committed to winning.

6. I don't believe in curses, although I curse a lot
I'm not doing a whole lot of crowing. The Sox have got momentum on their side, but if anybody knows how to stick a dagger in the heart of an opponent it's the Yanks. If I were an odds maker I'd call game 7 even.

16. I agree. As a sox fan, I lost the faith after game 2.
I didn't even want to watch the rest of the series, and missed most of game 3 and 4 and even 5 on purpouse. And I will completely admit once and for all that there's a curse if we lose tomorrow.
