Woohoo!!! My upgrade to Reason 2.5 arrived. The music commences at 5pm! |
|
I can't wait. Since upgrading the system to OSX Reason hasn't worked right. Now I can make music again

1. I just switched to OSX here at work. |
|
I like it a lot so far. Pretty easy transition from 9.2.

2. Once you get used to it you'll wonder how you ever lived with 9 |
|
And if you miss the print window function there's a utility for it :)

4. I'd love to switch my home computer |
|
But it's a G4 with a 400mz processor. The tech guy here at work said it's would be too slow and aI'd have to replace the processor. Plus, all my apps are versions design for OS9 (Kindly "donated" by said tech guy) and I couldn't afford OSX versions.

5. OK - he's wrong about your processor - it's be fine. However, if your |
|
apps are in classic 9 - stay in 9.

3. It is going to be a nightmare switching here |
|
I've been using OSX for quite awhile now, on my home computers. But, we're still in varying versions of 9, even a few 8s, at work. (The good news? Everything below G4 is getting replaced here.)
It ain't gonna be pretty.

7. My fear is that the two or three people who don't get ANYTHING |
|
will not get this, which will require us all to sit in a half-day training session about software I've been using for a year already...
We're also moving from Quark to InDesign, which I've never used before, but I've always been the type of person who learns programs by saying "give me the manual in case I need it; otherwise, let me futz with it on my own." I suspect there will be training on that as well.
I guess what I'm saying is, I hate computer training.

10. I'm an editor, not a designer, which means I'll mostly be working with |
|
existing templates and stylesheets (or whatever their InDesign equivalents are called)...but, yeah. Should be a blast. :eyes:

which is good - I hate Quark the company

9. Sweet! I want to hear the results. |

I just learned how to use VST plugins myself, after 2 years of home recording. Baby steps....
