What strange rituals will you do on Nov. 2?
Personally, I will be going to various houses of worship in the NYC area and pray to all known gods, goddesses and miscellaneous deities, as well as just plain old "thinking good things" (since I'm agnostic)....

1. I was planning on tossing off a bit more than usual.
But other than that, nothing one might consider "ritualistic".

9. DRINK.
Heavily. And vote. Not in that order. But there is no way, no how, I'm gonna make it through November 2nd without a whole lot of help from my friend Johnnie Walker.

11. Buy champagne
Every election since 1972. In 1980 and 1988 it went unopened. In 2000, I opened it when they called Florida for President Gore.

15. Change my e-mail and voicemail messages
to reflect being out of the office on November 3. Last time I went to sleep thinking with President Gore and woke up to a nightmare. Not this time, no way. My partner and I are going to get some beer and pizza and hunker down and wait for daylight.
