Chris Hitchens on "though crowd"
I guess they're starting to have non-comedians on now

last night they had Ben Stein

So for the small minority of DUers who aren't anti-war or anyone else
enjoy

1. Snitty-snot in Nobrowville?
Who booked this booby-hatch?

Colin and the boys are hamfisted know-nothing bomb-throwers. They have some people like Patrice in the group who have some talent, but the other rotating regulars are just playing to the cheapest of the cheap seats. Nick DiPaolo can be funny, but he's just another glee-filled mega-bigot sneerer--if you grew up on the East Coast, you're already sick of the type--and Skinhead toady-boy Jim Norton is just tiresome. George Carlin had unveiled disgust for him and Quinn.

Marc Maron's good, and Greg Giraldo is too.

This is a weird choice, but I'll have to watch; Hitchens disgusts me, but a sick fascination draws me...

3. Hitchens came out and said that things in Iraq were much better
Edited on Thu Sep-11-03 11:06 PM by FubarFly
than reported, and that overwhelming majority of the Iraqi people were grateful to the US and wanted to see them see this through.

I don't what happened after that. I'll probably have to invest in a new TV tomorrow. :evilfrown:

4. The way I know that Pollyanna reports on Iraq are false
If things were going splendidly, on course, making good progress, then
(1) Whistle Ass would never have made an overture to allies.
(2) The Allies would be begging us to let them help. Instead, they're acting as if they have all the cards.
It's just logic.

Like the way you know there were no WMD--Saddam didn't use them on us. Simple logic.

15. Hitchens is a total whore
I heard him say that "all the Iraqi people are grateful that the U.S. is there". Really? ALL of the Iraqi people? How, exactly, would he know that ALL of the Iraqi people are happy about the occupation? Guess he was so busy getting drunk he didn't notice the throngs of people protesting our presence there. I have no respect for this guy. He's a liar and a whore. He change his view in a second for a bottle of Scotch.

18. Hitchens spun the White House line to that dumbass panel
Those clowns reacted like they have not read a newspaper in months.

I am afraid that the White House has their message down pat. "The Iraqis are better off"

Forgotten are the previous string of messages: Iraq Supports Qaida, WMDs, ready to destroy America and her allies.

5. Christopher Hitchens can eat my shit!

That pompous asshole has done more to damage liberalism than Limbaugh, O'Reilly or Coulter have accomplished in their wettest dreams.

6. the Ben Stein episode was horrible.
Every time he talked, with his propagandistic conservative logic, everyone would shut up and not even challenge him. Either they are too stupid or don't really give a shit about what they espouse. That show has always reeked but that episode was goddamned horrible.

8. Goddamn, what happened to Hitchens?
I found his earlier writing for the Nation quite good, and his Kissinger documentary was brilliant. I just can't see how a guy who could produce something as good as that doc could do such a 360 ideologically. I mean, he's like a collaborator now, isn't he? Helping the Nazis acheive their ends while covering his ass with a "hey, I wrote for the Nation" pin on his standard issue raincoat. Who's paying him? He must be receiving some hefty blackmail cash to be strutting around the way he does, shitting on everything he used to believe in.

Hey Chris, If Kissinger is deserving of a trial before the ICC, then isn't Bush, too? I mean, whose crimes are greater?

Most of all, what bugs me about Hitchens is his resemblance to Dennis Eaton-Hogg, manager of Spinal Tap....

As an "insider" in the far left, let me offer you a direction about this. Google the name "Gerry Healy".

Martin

ON EDIT: He's not receiving blackmail cash. It's the other way around.

9. I can't watch that show....................
Quinn irritates the hell out of me. Another of those tough guy, brawler types that if ever confronted with a situation where he might get his ass kicked, would turn tail and run. There are enough mean sprirted people in my daily life, why would I turn on the TV to see the same thing passed off as entertainment? Hitchens? A drunken opportunist.

12. Ben Stein...
who has been arguing with Krugman about economic theory? And losing. Badly.

Hitchens-- the arrogant prick who went to Iraq so he could pry his lips off Rumsfeld's ass just long enough to repeat the White House lies?

And the comics sit there in awe of their greatness.

Who's next?

A lout, a yobbo. Scary thing is, he represents the East-Coast version of 'Joe Sixpack' to a tee.

16. Colin Quinn having a show is the
biggest mystery on TV since Pauly Shore or Dan Cortese. He's not funny. He's not informed. He's not witty or intelligent. What exactly is he? This completely confounds me. He can't even read a teleprompter and he's been in the business for over 20 years. Poor Jon Stewart. He has to advertise Colin's show as part of his Comedy Central deal....but Jon has to know how dreadful Colin's show is. And it really suffers following The Daily Show. At least they could have put "The Tough Crowd" (yeah, tough to watch) on after another equally lousy show, like The Man Show.

This no-talent assclown either gives the best blow jobs in Hollywood history (better than Nancy Reagan, even) or he has tapes....
