my partner is spending the week working the phone banks for Kerry in a neighboring swing state. This means she spends a fair amount of time talking to people who plan to vote for Bush, which she finds very discouraging. (Someone actually tried to France-bait her yesterday. Get a LIFE, people!) Reading the column perked her up some but she is still feeling discouraged. So, to give her heart to go back to the battleground, post your encouraging comments for her here!

I swear to God, I couldn't convince a starving man to take a loaf of bread from me, that's why I've volunteered to do anything for our local Dem party that isn't phone banking or canvassing (I'm driving voters to the polls before the election (we have early voting), and acting as a "poll watcher' on election day). I've begged, I've pleaded, but I can't convince any of my liberal friends to volunteer either. I can't even get DUers to help with the virtual GOTV effort for Florida! She is one of the rare ones, and if we are to alter the course of history, it will be because of people LIKE HER that America is saved from fascism!
