1. Boy you people are sensitive
One little complaint about the 10 gazillion baseball threads and all of a sudden were part of the Axis of Evil. I just don't need all baseball all the time.

7. sorry
i don't see how it is cerebral at all.

i don't like any sports. and off the top of my head, even football has more thought put into it. it has actual, you know, plays. rather than swinging the bat and hoping it goes far.

10. If you think that it's just swinging a bat and hoping it goes far....
....then you really, really don't understand the game (and specifically, the physics of the game).

Being able to read a pitch and knowing whether to swing at it and how to swing at it determines whether you hit to left or right field, send a bouncer up centerfield, knock it out of the park or shank it foul (hint: those things don't just happen as a fluke). It really is a fascinating game.

6. You just don't get it
After all, Fox thought y'all needed a blue blob so that you could find the black puck on the white ice.

5. Baseball=Blech. Sorry. I refused to watch after the strike. I really was
enjoying watching the replacement players. They were happy to get a shot at it and it showed in how much fun the games were to watch. Then the big crybabies come back and shatter their dreams. I was pissed and ticked off all at once. Then when they ran the ridiculous farce of homerun races up into the 60's and all that other B.S. to lure the sheep back to the fold, I became determined to not ever watch the bunk again. :hi:

8. But baseball never had replacement players...
when they went on strike, they just ended the season. I think you were thinking of the NFL, which did hire replacement players (aka scabs) when their players went on strike...

12. Nope. Baseball had replacement players and a preseason with them.
Then the week before the season was to start, the crybabies settled. I know what I'm talking about.

snip-
The 1994 strike set in motion a chain of events that Major League Baseball and its fans still feels to this day. One of them was the use of replacement players during Spring Training in 1995 (Excel spreadsheet with complete rosters can be download from this page). These players, like them or not, crossed the proverbial picket line and became forever known as the replacements.'

16. Yes they do...when they are fun to watch, and those were fun to watch.
More fun than the crap that's played now. I never said they played a regular season game. The fact that they didn't get to is what pissed me off if you read my posts on it throughout this board. They deserved it much more than the asses who play the game today.

9. Lots of hate going on
I hate the "Why do we have so many ---- threads?" The ones that are serious, that is. I just want to respond "Well, why don't you give us a list of acceptable lounge subjects, then? Hey everyone! Consult ***** before you post!"

I'm in an irritable mood today. Never mind me.

I am tired of the treads (which I hide and do not comment on). I think people might be tweaked by ALL THE THREADS that pop up. I have many threads hidden and I will hide this one as well. Last night I only had 10 threads on page one, 15 on page two and a shortened 3rd page as well.

But I understand the excitement, and I don't want to stifle, or see stifled anyone having a good time :hi:

party on dude. Go Sox!

On Edit: 95 threads hidden, not counting this one. 7 are football and 2 stupidity related, 1 is the fifth dupe of 'Marc Almond in accident', 3 days after the day it happened. The rest are all about you, my baseball nuts!:loveya:
