3. That is the all-time classic
I watched this movie again just before the carrier-sock-stuffing stunt and I shot Guinness out of my nostrils when Snake said that.

4. The Thing, Halloween, and Escape from NY all rule...
Each for different reasons. Such a great filmmaker.

I voted for the Thing because I'm a total sucker for the "small group of people in confined space fighting some sort of creature/ghost/element" genre.

5. "Big Trouble In Little China," though
I loved "Starman" and Kurt Russell delivered the best Elvis yet since the real thing.

I've lost track of how many times I've watched "Big Trouble In Little China." It's a classic.

7. I think we all lost track...
back when they showed it at least once a day on HBO when I was younger. :-)

I've got great memories of watching that movie over and over and over with my little brother.

12. Totally agree, Forrest!
But I had a hard time choosing with Escape fron NY on the Ballot.

Feel safe.
Ashcroft watches over us all.

8. HOW CAN HALLOWEEN BE LOSING?
It IS the best slasher movie EVER! Best JC movie EVER!

I think I'm gonna have to send Michael Myers after all ya'all that didn't vote for it!

10. I chose Christine even though it is a horrible movie IMHO
I just get a kick out of it every time I see it. It's got that guy who played Rodney Dangerfield's son in "Back To School" in it (his name is Keith Gordon, but I will always remember him as Jason Mellon), which was a worse movie!

13. I personally loved "Big Trouble in Little China", but...

I hadn't seen "The Thing" in its entirety until last winter, and it freaked the bejeebus outta me. Especially the ending.
While BTinLC is excellent, I had to vote for "The Thing"
(Mainly because I thought this was about the best John Carpenter film, not my favorite. That's what I get for not reading the headline to the post thoroughly.)
