Poll question: Is Your Everyday "Check-Signing" Signature Legible? |
|
Or are you one of those scribblers who just draws a curly line with a couple of loop-de-loops and a wiggle at the end?

1. My cursive writing got so bad by college... |
|
...that I had to start printing my notes or else even I couldn't read them!
My name is now the only thing I write, I have to print everything else.

amount in the "pay to the order of" spot...then it becomes a jumbled mess of initials. Banks love me, they really do.

I have to sign my name tons of times during the day and it just kept getting worse and worse...you can't even make out letters now, let alone my name.

... if you just saw my signature and had to guess my name based on it, you might not be able to... but if you had to pick my sig from a "lineup" of various signatures and squiggles, you'd probably be able to figure out which one is my name.

5. I tried once to change my legal signature to a huge "J" |

The bank was not overly amused. I'm in the exact same boat as Trotsky (the DUer posting above, not the gentleman with the ax in his head). I write cursive so seldom that I sometimes have to sign my name practically letter by letter, which somewhat defeats the point of writing cursive, but still.

Sometimes I write my checks in calligraphy, too.

My boss has also commented that I'm the only computer programmer he's met with a natively integrated encryption algorithm. I can read my writing just fine, but nobody else can. My signature is a series of zigzags with two lines through it...but I can point out every letter of my name to anyone who asks.

I write poorly, but usually legible. My signature does look that of a political leader. Maybe, someday.

you can make out my initials. I'm definitely a "make my mark" kind of guy. Made the closing process when I bought my house especially painful, because the stupid fucking lawyer wouldn't accept my real signature, and made me use the 6th grade retahd cursive. Every sig took like a full minute.
