The ALCS is not the World Series
No matter what the New York and Boston media tell you.

Just ask the Marlins. ;)

Can we please get rid of the DH?

Watching pitchers hit is about as much fun as watching paint dry.

11. If you're too fat, slow, or broken down
To play an everyday position, go join a beer league.

15. Nope
The Cardinals.

Born in St. Louis. Came of age when Whitey Herzog was winning all those pennants using speed, small ball, and defense.

The long ball's nice, but I'm not a chick, so I don't dig it.

Hate the DH with a passion.

19. I met Whitey
at Coors Field in '95. He seemed nice enough but what really caught my eye was the championship ring he was wearing.

20. I miss Whitey
La Russa's successful and I like him for that reason, but he isn't nearly as colorful a personality as Whitey.

Yep I'm a New Yorker
Which would beg the question:

Why do I have a California flag as my avatar?

23. I guess it's not the Northeast so much
As it is the Eastern media establishment, and their constant flogging of eastern teams.

Look, I've got no hate for New Yorkers or Bostonians. We'll all be blue states in the end.

Peace.

21. Boston STILL has to win 4 of the next 7.
All the "they wn't be denied" Bosox fans just might be mightily disappointed. Neither the Cards nor the 'Stros are going to be pushovers. Still good baseball to come, and Boston just MIGHT be exhausted after the ALCS.
