Daily Show Last Night!
OMG...maybe their best ever...if you haven;t caught the re-run do so tonite...

Steven Colbert's defense of Bush using clumsily edited film clips is priceless...especially when he works Foghorn Leghorn into one faux "Bush statement."

And the guy who chained himself to the wrong door is a hoot and a half....

1. That segment was priceless!
Interviewer: So do you consider yourself the Rosa Parks of getting chained to the wrong door?
(pause)
Protester: I don't know who Rosa Parks is.

8. I almost fell off my chair!
You know who that reminded me of? The character of "Larry" on Dharma & Greg....

And the door he changed himself to had a huge sign on it that said "This Is NOT An Entrance. Go Around To The Front."

Priceless....

2. Wait, was this a new one? Everyone's talking about Colbert's WMD piece...
... but I saw "the guy who chained himself to the wrong door" piece weeks ago.

Could they have re-run the door piece within a new show? Who was the guest, and was it actually a new show? i thought John said Monday that they were back from vacation.

4. Just that piece was a rerun
Edited on Fri Sep-12-03 09:54 AM by wakfs
Jon Stewart introduced the piece by saying he just didn't feel like doing the celebrity interview last night.

6. I think they had a guest who backed out.
Jon covered for it by making a joke. Something to the effect of: usually I'd be interviewing some starlet right now, but I just don't want to!

5. Talk Show Jon
I cannot say enough good things about Jon Stewart.
I never miss the show.
He almost makes this alternate reality world we are living in bearable.
I hope he is on the air for the next 10 years.

Long live Talk Show Jon!

7. The montages of Bush were great
I hope that they'll be available on the Internet soon so we can spread them around.

Funniest stuff I've seen in a long time.

14. Are we still talking about the redheaded guy from the Daily Show?
Edited on Fri Sep-12-03 02:43 PM by 1a2b3c
By the way, god, i got a haircut and shaved. I will try and post pictures later. I now dont look like an unshaven, unbathed, tofu eating, birkenstock wearing, hippie.

13. Jon seemed very pissed
By the end of the show, when he said, "I hope tomorrow night's is better." I think someone backed out literally minutes before they were to go on - maybe they didn't like the tenor of the political humor?

15. Seemed to me
That he really didn't want to do a show on 9/11 but had to because he just came back from vacation.

Anyone hear rumors about someone cancelling?
