You should hear the rebroadcast of the local sports radio guys
from last night. Jerry Remy, God love him, my radio friend for years and years on WEEI 850, had the call during the game. They've been replaying his voice as the audio reel for the Damon grand slam on SportsCenter.

You have to love the sheer incredulity in his voice.

"Long fly ball! GRAND SLAM!!! Johnny Damon?"

I swear to God, you can *hear* the question mark in his voice.

1. Jerry Remy?

BTW Aint it sweet to have kicked the dog snot out of the Yanks?

I know he played second base for the Red Sox back in the day and am fucking happy for him and all Sox fans who laid this one on Yankee fans, "Fucking Johnny Damon."

I cannot believe that Jerry Remy is still around the game. He is one of my all time favorite Stockton Ports. He played A level minor league baseball in Stockton for the Angels in the mid seventies. He was one our favorite players along with Bruce Bochte and John Balaz. Full of hustle and spirit never backing down from a challenge. It was like he was one of us. One of the few players to have fun with us park rats as we begged for balls, broken bats, gloves while we fought to call dibs on keeping score in the old wooden scoreboard. Some kid named Tony, Jerry called him Taco, was their favorite. He lived right by the park and was practically their official ball shagger and gofer. They were like brothers. Jerry Remy is the man.

3. Remy calls all the games for EEI
Every time the job of manager of the Red Sox comes open, Remy's name gets floated...and he always quietly says no, and keeps calling the games on the radio. He just wrote a book, 'Watching Baseball: Discovering the Game within the Game':

Remy is the man.

2. You know...
It's about goddamned time. If they stay loose and focused, they can take this thing. I hope they do.
