The real reason the Grumpy bed never gets made (Cat/Dog thread)

Darned cat sleeps there...what's a girl to do?

Darned dog always begging for attention, how could I say no?

Looking at that picture makes me realize I should also be washing the kitchen floor right about now...

1. I make my bed, but
Cosmo always finds a way to get under the quilt. It's really quite funny to enter the room and see this big lump in the bed (and if you pet it, it will purr!).

5. Merlin starts yelling at me the minute I attempt to make the bed...
Jessie hogs my floor space if I even mention Merlin's name. She's a tad of the jealous sister. :hi:

Your cat is all ready for Holloween! Your animals look so loved.

Pad Thai goes under the covers after I pull up the bed in the morning. He sleeps under the covers at night too, between my legs.

I was working from home yesterday and he did not want me to go to work this morning. First he sat on my keys, then he ran up the three stories of the condo complex I live in, making me go up after him. Then he ran down again. I was late for my van and had to slug into work (catch a ride with someone in the car pool lanes).

Here he is yesterday (poor lighting, sorry) keeping me from working.

attention once the last child goes off to school. :hi:

7. Wow! We've really synked up today
I just finished making beds and mopping floors. I swear the cats make a bigger mess than the kids, especially in the kitchen. I mean who'd a thunk it, my cats love pineapple upside down cupcakes? I left them on the stovetop last night and the pineapple was eaten off the top this morning. They know they aren't supposed to be on the counters and such so the little monsters knocked it off onto the floor, sticky everywhere. Now I get to make some more cupcakes.

11. Jessie, the mud mucking dog, is my biggest mess maker. We can't
have any live flowers in the house, because Merlin will try to eat the leaves and ends up swatting the vase over. Once I accidently left a steak on the counter because I was tired and didn't want to clean up. (This was pre Jessie, so I know it was Merlin) I got up to use the bathroom and stepped on something cold and slimy in the dark. Horrified, I turned on the light. Only to find the fat rind from the steak on the floor...my tubbalub kitty had eaten it. :hi:

12. I guess it's better to step on a fat rind
than a dead mouse or headless bird. I broke the cats of playing in th4e plants by putting big stones in the pots. It's my job to kill the plants in my house it's one thing I am good at.

14. She is great with the kids. I call her the "other mother". She won't let
James near the basement steps (herds him away). She lays on the floor of the bathroom with her head up and ears at attention when he takes a bath. She comes in when I'm tucking him in to make sure I do it right. She comes with me on my midnight rounds to lock up the house...and then, her work done, she lays in the hallway in front of our bedrooms to rest, and keep watch.

Although, she is afraid of squirrels, small and large dogs, the fire alarm, the vacuum, and any loud noise. ;)

16. I miss my dogs
I have one cat now and he's wonderful and a big help making the bed - sigh - but I miss the doggies.

At one point after my divorce, I had four Boxers and a Beagle. They were what kept me sane (or relatively so) and we'd all pile onto my king size waterbed and heap like a pile of puppies, me and the dogs all tangled together in a warm, cozy furry pile of comfort. Needless to say, the bed didn't get made much but I'd far rather have the snuggles anyway.

Your kids are very cute.

17. my kitty takes over my bed every time I get out of it.
If I get up from bed and then come back, my cat usually has taken my spot and is already sleeping on my pillows.

22. Is your cat hungry? Merlin hangs on me and yowls at me until I feed
him...then he goes back to sleeping on our bed. It's why we never have any action pictures to post. He used to sleep in my son's car seat, and loved it so much that I kept it around for about a year after James was not using it anymore. :hi:

extended upon her face. The longer she sleeps, the longer the extended claw becomes. :hi:
