Why anyone would want Kerry's chances to rest, in any small measure whatsoever, on the outcome of a baseball series is beyond me. Push the MA vs TX line too hard and when Boston loses (as it could) superstitious people throughout the land (and we have no end to superstitious people) will see it as an omen of who they should vote for Nov. 2.
Pull for St. Louis . . .
