"The Family" book review from The Colorado Colegian.
I saw her on the news today. She's never been sued, never had to retract a thing, has her book vetted by lawyers.
She mentioned that the interview with Bushs sister-in-law Sharon, from which the cocaine stories come from, has been corroberated by a witness who was present.
She feels real sorry for Sharon, says she came under intense pressure to deny the interview in public.

Here's the conclusion of the book review:
In short: With the presidential elections just around the corner, "The Family," at 673 pages, is a must read. "The Family," is an in-depth look at the Bush family's roots and its rise to political and financial fame.

1. There's a good chance that Shrub used nose candy...
... but Kitty Kelley's accusations are not well documented.

She was interviewed on Diane Rehm a while ago, and she elaborated on this aspect of her book. ( http://www.wamu.org/programs/dr/04/09/17.php , about 20 minutes into the interview). Kelley had a 4-hour lunch conversation with Sharon Bush and asked her, "Have you heard the rumors about George W. Bush doing coke Camp David while your father-in-law was president?" Sharon Bush replied, "Yeah, not once, but many times." That was it. Since then, Sharon Bush claims that she never told Kelley that Bush has used cocaine. The trouble with this is that saying "Yeah, I've heard the rumors" is miles away from "He's a snort monkey, I've seen him do it."

(That being said, Kelley claims that Sharon Bush's publicist has confirmed the story.)

The pot smoking has stronger documentation...
