Jewel cancels tour because bass player dies
Jewel has cancelled her entire tour because her bass player died last week of a stroke. He was only 39.

I think Jewel's music is proof that Satan exists, but that just sucks.

1. how is Jewel's music proof that Satan exists?
Edited on Fri Sep-12-03 10:39 AM by ixion
just curious... I've never found her music to be anything even remotely close to satanic... what's your angle on it?

My condolences go out to her and the family of her bass player.

6. "The unicorn that doth shit rainbows"
Was listed as the title of Jewel's first poetry book at some long dead satire site. I always found that REALLY FUNNY and sums up bad poetry in one perfect sentence.

She's nice to look at, and has a great voice. I even like some of her music. But her poetry could give Proconsul Vogon Gels a run for his money.

5. yeah, me too, TD
while she may not be the greatest lyricist ever, I think there are dozens, if not hundreds, of far worse candidates.

4. I wasn't a huge Jewel fan until
I won free tickets to her show. She's really smart and funny.

7. I thinks this rocks.
Spivey Leeks was a drip of a man
He looked like a potato shoved into jeans
He recollects, it wasn't that long ago
That he could walk by, make the young girls scream
But he thought he'd just let it all slide, let it all pass
'Cause he thought love was best on the run
He said, "Now baby, it don't seem that fun"

CHORUS
'Cause everybody needs someone sometime
Everybody needs someone, can't you see
Everybody needs someone sometime

12. No, Shel only worked with jump rope songs.
Like:

Down by the ocean
Down by the sea
Johnny broke a bottle
and blamed it on me

I told ma
ma told pa
Johnny got a whippin'
and Ha Ha Ha

9. bless her heart
although I must say, I'm disappointed Jewel decided to tart herself up the way the no-talent bimbos do.

11. Like "Intuition"
way better than those smarmy, whiny love songs. She doesn't sound like a wimp anymore.

Hehe. Great line about the bad poety.

14. Her former producer was 'Big Ben' Keith...
..the only steel guitar player in the world to have played with both Faron Young and Neil Young both. That's cred, in my book.
