Any cricket fans?
As an American, when I tell people I love cricket, they look at me as if I've just confessed to enjoying watching paint dry. I developed this proclivity while living first in the UK and then in South Africa.

I think cricket is every bit as exciting as baseball (and I love baseball too). Especially one-day (limited overs) cricket.

But you gotta love a sport that has names for field positions like "silly mid-on" and breaks for tea every few hours.

1. Here at work
...on one side I have a guy who grew up in Barbados and on the other a guy who grew up in India. They love to talk cricket.

As an anglophile, I've seen cricket played in British movies and TV shows. Looks like a fun time socially.

2. I spent a week in the UK a couple of years ago
...and since then I've been fascinated by the game. A couple of months ago, I saw a cricket game being played in New York City!

3. I work with some people from India
they were trying to tell me how it's played.

But they didn't do a good job...

5. It's a simple game...
You throw the ball.
You hit the ball.
You catch the ball.
Sometimes it rains.

And everybody gets tea.

4. I like it
spent a year of high school in england. Learned how to play. Like the part of tossing the ball in the air after catching it.
Hows That!
or something like that
