I am giving up going Church
If you wonder why it's because of all of the hate and the I am holier then thou attitudes. Most of the Christians that I have met are hypocrites and I am sick of all of the gay bashing and abortion rights issues. It makes me sick when church goers use God to promote their own agendas.

I have a message for Church going zealot's. If you all are holier then thou then why do you stand behind a killer and why do all of you God fearing church goers ignore the hungry, injured and homeless?

4. I've stopped going too
at least until I find a place which doesn't use religion as a weapon to beat down others.

6. Catholics and abortion burn me up too.

They can't shut up about it, like there is nothing else going on in the world except abortions.

War, OTOH, is completly OK.

9. i go to church to celebrate Mass, not for
*THE Church* to tell me how to vote.

Call me whatever you want, or think whatever....I've heard it all and I don't care.

It's all between me and God. Period.

10. It's a shame...
that politics have invaded our churches. Please don't let the fundies and zealots drive you away from church. There are churches out there that are nondenominational and attended by some pretty open minded people.

15. My daughter attends a Baptist Church but didn't go this last Sunday
because her picture was in the paper asking her who she was voting for and why. She told them "Kerry" and she agreed with him on a women's right to choose and she agreed with him on the war in Iraq. After she was interviewed she was afraid she would have to put up with some church members comdemning her. Personally I would have gone to church and if someone said something to me I would have put them in their place and ask them why a women should not have the right to choose but an illegal President had the right to lie to the American people and go into a illegal war where ten of thousands of people are killed and injured.

12. don't stop going, just spend a little time and effort
to find the right church. I'll bet you could find a nice liberal church where you live. Try the Epicopalians.

13. A gay bishop, women priests, no celibacy and they approve of rational
thought! Episcopalians are one of the best places to liberal Christians to find a welcoming home. You can even knock back a few stiff drinks with your priest and nobody is surprised!

We're called "Catholics without guilt", "Catholic lite" and the "Frozen Chosen".

16. You might find that your spiritual growth continues faster,
and in ways that you did not expect when you stop going to church. This was my experience.

Or maybe not, what the heck do I know?
