Just saw 'The Birds' ....eeee |
|
Man, I just saw Alfred Hitchcocks 'The Birds'. So, after I got all FREAKED OUT and the movie ended, I went out to our kitchen, and there, sitting on the porch, was A HUGE CROW!!!!
Oh shoot. I hate birds now. Birds.... BIRDS!!!! I AM 13 YEARS OLD AND AFRAID OF BIRDS!!!!!
You know what? We have to jog around the back field every day at school for P.E in the morning, and there's always BIRDS out there. The BIRDS just happen to be Seagulls and Crows.
This is bad....

where the movie was filmed, the building they used for the schoolhouse is still standing with a big profile of Hitchcock in the window. The one time I saw it it was covered with...BIRDS!

Which is also mentioned in the movie and is a little further inland from Bodega Bay. I'm a little further north now, in Eureka. Bodega Bay is about 5 hours away from here. If I ever do go back I'll be sure and snap you a picture, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. Sorry.
Actually it's amazing how many people don't know that the house is there. Even people who live in the area don't know about it, and are always surprised when I tell them. It's kind of out of the way, and in fact I stumbled across by accident when I was driving around the beaches in high school with some friends. There's a little market right across the street from it, and we pulled into its driveway. I recognized the house instantly, and then saw the big profile of Hitchcock in the window, confirming that I was right about it. I asked the clerk in the market if that was in fact the schoolhouse in The Birds, and he smiled and said yes it was.
It was weird though, because there were birds all over it. Supposedly Hitchcock got the idea for the movie simply by driving around that area of California and seeing huge flocks of birds resting on telephone poles and such. Not an uncommon sight at all in that region, but still, creepy, heh, heh, heh.
