2. Astros vs. Red Sox?
Sounds like the work of Karl Rove to me. I knew that there was something wrong with that Boston comeback.

Better check the party affiliation and campaign contributions of the World Series umpires.:tinfoilhat:

3. Little premature on the Astros there...
although, as a life-long Red Sox fan, the 'Stros scare me slightly more than the Cards. Their pitching is far tougher... but I don't really care WHICH team we play. BRING. IT. ON. :)

6. "Bring it on!" is the correct street phrase.
Bush is the one that screwed it up by saying "Bring em on!" It just goes to show he was trying to be hip.

7. My Dream World Series
Edited on Thu Oct-21-04 05:35 PM by SpiralHawk
is the Red Sox Vs. the Astros (New England Vs. Texas).

If it works out that way, John Kerry should immediately make a "friendly wager" with the Chimp.

Kerry could maybe ante up a pot of gourmet Boston Baked Beans Vs. whatever Bush wants to wager from his home state of Connecticut.

Ooops, I forgot, Bush likes to pretend he is from Texas. Maybe it would be more "appropriate" for him to wager a real Houston specialty, like some Enron Stock Options.

At any rate, Red Sox/Astros would be a Fantastic Compliment to the Political Theater of the season.

Go Crimson Hose ! (SH, Sox fan since '48)

12. Boston Red Sox Vs. St. Louis Cardinals...
All the best to the stellar Boston fans and miraculous ballclub, who achieved baseball history with their amazing comeback after being down 3 games to zip.

I write from the City of St. Louis, watching joy break out throughout the metro area. When I was a little leaguer, I went downtown with the team to shake hands with Stan Musial, Kenny Boyer and co. At 55 now, it's a real thrill to see the Cardinals season elevate to the World Series after a 17-year hiatus.

One thing is for sure, both these class organizations will bring serious baseball fans a great late October treat.

I have been hoping for my own "dream series": Bosox and Redbirds, since it was down to 8 teams. Everything beyond this is icing, for those who support either finalist.
