Why does my sound card
Edited on Thu Oct-21-04 07:48 PM by Bushneedstogo
Go out every time I try to listen to Air America?

My computer is less than a year old and it has Windows XP intalled on it. Everytime I click on Air America is goes out.

3. My notebook
The fan stopped working on it and it burned up inside and it was less then 6 months old. They are going to fix it and I am now using my desktop and I installed Earth-link DSL a few days ago.

I am using Microsoft Windows Explorer should I change browsers?

4. It's not the browser
It's the media player. You're prolly using Windows Media Player 9 or so. Try using a different link
to listen
http://www.themic921.com/main.html

When I attempt to connect to http://www.airamericaradio.com/, I sometime have problems listening as well. They might be overloaded with streaming requests.

9. I would feel uncomfortable
telling you to roll back to a previous restore point without seeing the exact error you are getting. If you have a specific date that you know your sound card quit working, you can roll your PC back to a saved restore point. Files, emails, documents are not changed, only system files and drivers (excluding print drivers)are backed up.

Start > Help and Support
Undo changes to your computer with System Restore
Retore my computer to an earlier time > next
Choose the date > next

This is as far I will suggest with this issue.

5. It happened last night
When I downloaded F9/11 and I went to run it the sound went out and then it said that I had a Trojan horse on my computer. I removed the Trojan horse and the sound came back on.

Over the past week I have not been able to listen to Air America because the sound card wouldn't work.

7. Maybe re-check with another program
to make sure the trojan isn't still there.

8. Check to see if the driver for your sound card is working
if windows isn't using the appropriate driver, then that could be what's causing the problem. It should be included in the windows CD that came with your computer.
