Attn: Movie fans! 'Ringu' or 'The Ring'?

I have read the book but have seen both movies. Personally, I liked both for different reasons. How about you? Which version did you like better?

1. i thought the ring was much better

the 'video' in ringu looked like a flock of seagulls video.

2. I liked The Ring better

which surprised me because every video nerd I ever talked to always said how much better the Japanese version was and how dumbed down the American adaptation had been. But The Ring was scarier, funnier, more entertaining, and had much better production values.
