I was also raised to HATE the Red Sox by my father (I am not blaming it on him - I have cultivated my own unique hatred) but I was truly surprised by some of the harshness I encountered. Well to be fair, I think they shouldn't always spend. You know the names you guys name the most that you think made the team great guys like Paul O'Neil, Scott Brocius, etc, good players but they weren't household names like A-Rod or whoever, my point is, you don't need a team of big stars to win, you need stars and a bunch of regular guys we'll all forget about :D. I really think the Yankees should have kept Soriano btw, he's a great player, A-Rod is great but I think it was a bad idea to trade for him. BTW the Yanks had a 3 span of winning titles from 98-00, how you think I feel lol, my team won four years before I was born. We all gotta suffer sometimes, and it makes us better people as a result, if my grandparents hadn't been so damn poor, I wouldn't have so much admiration for the working poor from a personal point of view.

With me - I love baseball, always have, but the sport I loved the most was college basketballl (still do). And for us in CT its the only sport where we had a local CT team we could be proud of. I spent 25 years of my life following heartbreak after heartbreak - especially at the hands of Duke (the name that should never be spoken). In 1999 the absolutely unspeakable happened - we fucking beat Duke for the championship. We have since gone on to win an unprecidented Men and Women's title which sould take generations to equal. I only bringit up because, as much as I fucking htae the Red Sox, they represent something inside of me (they say we hate in other people that which we have in us) - I respect their fire and hope.
