Sleeping pills : How long until they wear off ? zzzzzzz
Anyways when I went home I took 2 Tylenol PM Extra Strength with sleeping aids , within minutes they took affect I felt like I could drop into sleep any minute . That was 4 hours ago , how long will it take for these pills to wear off . I already slept 4 hours , I am afraid to even cook in fear I might fall asleep while doing so .

I think I am catching the flu : My back hurts , I feel cold one minute , hot the next . I am cranky and crampy . My throat hurts in the mornings . To top it off I had an interview for a job today where I had to answer a lot of questions ... I really hope I got it . Being on medication for a cold made me nervous once I was done .

1. About 12 hours.

This is why I don't even take 1/4 of a sleeping pill--it doesn't matter what the dosage is. You have to set aside 12 hours of sleep time if you take a sleeping pill, and who can do that?

I know a lot of people who've been really sick in the past couple of months, and a lot of people who've just felt like crap but didn't get anything full blown. I hope you feel better. Rest is the best thing.

6. 12 hours?
Ambien only lasts like 7-8, and those are pretty hardcore sleeping pills (as in, some people start hallucinating if they try to stay awake on them).

3. They usually last about 8 hours for me
But I usually wake up feeling kind of hungover from them.

My doctor prescribed me some Ambien, and I don't get the hangover from that as much, but they are presciption only and they're really expensive, so I can't get them very often.

5. From the website
I checked the Tylenol PM website in the FAQs section and learned the duration is between 4 to 6 hours.

http://www.tylenol.com/products/faq/adult.jhtml?id=tylenol/products/faq/adult/pm.inc#q02

I notice a hangover effect with Tylenol PM and so I use it with great caution. It typically lasts about 8 hours for me and I need a cup of joe to get me moving. Can I recommend an herbal remedy that also works for cold and flu. It's called ginger tea. The recipe calls for fresh ginger, which is a natural anti-histamine.

6 quarter-size slices of fresh ginger, lightly smashed
8-10 oz cold water
A dash of paprika or chili powder for color.

Place all ingredients in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Turn down the flame and let simmer for 2 or 3 minutes.

This will make you sleep and sweat, but I swear it works.
