Edited on Fri Oct-22-04 12:47 AM by qnr
Not what we really plan on getting, at least in my case. I don't even want to think about what a Montreal would cost these day, not even considering gas. But this:

was the first car I ever owned that made me go wow

Edit: Sorry, just wanted to see another picture of it heheheh

It's got a five and a half inch lift kit plus 35 inch tires. I didn't want to do it but I got tired of getting stuck in mud my friends could drive through with their trucks. Taller tires were the only solution.

Mine has the half doors, too.

37. I have a 2003 white mustang convertible, the low-end version
what I'd like is a 2003 BLACK or RED mustang convertible, the high-end version.

Though I don't think I'd take it - what do I really need the extra power for? I don't. And the mileage is less.

So I'd really like a black or red mustang.

I'd also like a 1967 +/1 a year or two mustang convertible. Nice damn cars!

I love mustangs.

Oh, i'd also like a high-end mercedes sedan and a lamborghini and one of those 1920s cars with the really long noses and the cloth tops and the spindly wheels...can't think of the names of any of them, but whenever I see one, I get excited. Rolls Royce, I'm quite positive, made them.

One of my all-time favorite cars was my '61 Peugeot 404 sedan - the second car I ever owned. Paid $50 for it because the trans was shot - my dad and I fixed it up, and I drove it for almost two years before the clutch blew up in the middle of Chatham, NJ.

I have an '01 Protege ES. Bought it used 1 year ago, I should have it paid early next year. (Take that, Mr. Banker--you thought you had me for 5 years!)

The car I want: Something fairly inexpensive (pragmatically speaking, a car is a car is a car), with similarly awesome handling and braking to what I have now (yes, a car is a car, but it's not as if I don't know how to really drive), with geeky tech appeal and great mileage, like a Prius. So next time, I'll probably be looking for a 2nd generation Prius and doing some tire and suspension upgrades.

61. 2004 Volvo XC 70 (after driving an '87 Volvo 240DL for nearly 17 years)
Edited on Fri Oct-22-04 12:46 PM by rezmutt
I'm hoping that the Volvo wagon will last as long - I take very good care of my wheels, so its chances are good.

Unfortunately, at 6'5", I can't fit comfortably into any of the current hybrids. And for sure, I don't fit into any smaller cars.

But I refuse to drive an SUV -- the XC 70 puts you up off the road like an SUV, and its got 4WD, but it's not a guzzler or a parking-space hog by a long shot.

It also scores a 9 out of 10 (10 being best) in the EPA's Air Pollution Score in my state.

On edit: The XC 70 is is the car that I would drive no matter what -- even if I hit the lottery or became the heir of a long-lost wealthy aunt!

62. Right now, I drive a 93 Toyota truck,
but I'd rather have a good, comfortable pair of shoes and live in a city where all the necessities of daily life are within walking distance of home. Now THAT's perchance to dream!!!

Cars (all of them, no matter how economical) are such a money pit.

It's one of them there sportwagons. I can haul my dogs, my mountainbike and a little bit of ass and still get over 25 mpg in stop 'n go.

67. Lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz.....and the Jaguar SUV....
If gas were like water, I'd buy the Mercedes Benz ML 500.
And I'm already saving my money for the Jaguar SUV coming out in 2009. I've been lamenting the absence of one for as long as I had dream cars, LOL.

Ah, my Mercedes. But in like, dark red or black.

72. I thought I hated SUVs until I drove a little "Escape"
while on vacation in AZ, my SO upgraded us (against my cheap-ass will) from a compact to a Ford Escape - a jeep-sized SUV.

Well worth it for the 1200 miles we drove. And 23-28 mpg highway. Not great, but not bad.

Don't really need something that big/tough for city/suburb driving, but it was nice for driving around looking at abandoned mines in Tombstone, or taking Schnably road into Sedona.

77. Do some serious research before you waste your money.
I leased an SLK 320 for awhile. Piece of shit transmission fell out while I was driving 20mph in a parking lot. They had to fly a specialist from California in to work on it (I'm in the south), took forever to get it fixed. If this was my car, not a lease car, it would have cost me thousands of dollars.

Mercedes is junk. Unreliable in every JD Power report you'll read. If you want to spend all of your money for a cool looking car sitting in a shop while you drive an Enterprise Tauras...be my guest.

(It was fabulously fast and fun, but I'll never buy an MB.)

What I have : Same color and version you see on the pic :"Renault Clio 1" 1994. Small, ultra reliable, cheap to buy, cheap to use, not "chic" at all ! lol

What I want : I'm reasonable it is not a super car but a nice little coupé. Not cheap but not utopist.
The new "Peugeot 407 Coupé"

Edited on Fri Oct-22-04 06:17 PM by Radical Activist
Life is happier if you decide to want what you already have. It's nothing very fancy but I love my car. If Saturn comes out with a hybrid soon I would like to buy a used one.
