But lately, GH has gotten rid of a good number of their older characters and are trying to make the show into "Sopranos-lite". It still has some good actors, like Tony Geary (who's been on vacation).

OLTL has some good storylines-Dorian/David Vickers, Walker/Todd, the little demon seed child, Starr. They also have had a character (Marcie) who is an anti-war protestor who has been harrassed and assualted by freeper types. Marcie is also a full-figured girl with a hunky boyfriend, not the typical soap couple.

Aside from that, focusing the show on Sonny (Maurice Benard) and his posse (Carly, Jason, Courtney) has really sucked the life out of the show. It's become redundant and boring. Although, I'll probably check back in when Tony Geary returns from vacation - he's usually worthwhile to watch.

I like B&B and Y&R!! I started watching Y&R when I was tiny w/my Grandma.
I used to watch As The World Turns years ago, but I have to get my ass off the sofa and clean the house some time;)

Did anyone see on One Life to Live a few weeks back, this one girl was being harrassed for being anti-war and her boyfriend was telling her she was the real American and that the ones hating her were like Nazi just that they wear suits instead of swastikas!! No Shit! I was cleaning my livingroom and almost fell over! I've never heard such political talk on a soap.

Ever since I saw Timmy and Tabitha for the first time, I've been horribly addicted to that show. It's the funniest, most twisted soap ever! It's like Dark Shadows meets David Lynch.

I'm not currently addicted, but the last time I spent a stretch in the hospital I was forced to turn to daytime television of entertainment.

Passions or regular soaps or The People's Court. I watched so much Passions, I started to miss it when I had a life again.

I "watch" Passions and tape As the World Turns--I'm usually doing something else and just catching the good parts of the show. I wish they would pick up the pace, tho--Batty Beth's bogus baby is getting boring!

25. Don't Feel Bak Keph... I Started Watching It By Accident

It was just "background noise" and I'd peek at the screen for a moment a couple of times a day as I passed by. But then... something caught my eye (probably one of the hunky shirtless guys) and I watched the scene.

While I'm drooling over the beefcake, I got mildly interested in the storyline. Next time I paused to take a look, the story line (although strange... very STRANGE) got even more interesting.

Next thing you know, I'm LINGERING more and more and it's becoming more than just meaningless background noise.

Before you know it, I'll be RECORDING it on my ReplayTV so that I don't miss a thing.

It's such a great guilty pleasure and boasts the best-looking cast in daytime. Luis/Sheridan, Theresa/Fox, (forget about Ethan honey!!!)Whitney/Chad etc. Boy these people set the dang TV on fire.

And the gal who plays Gwen is Susan Lucci's daughter. She started the character, left and came back to reprise the role. You can see some of her mother's mannerisms in her.

Considering the sorry state of ABC soaps these days, I'm going to bet that in another 5 years only CBS & NBC will have a daytime line-up
