Red Sox tempt Doug Flutie to pitch his career
SAN DIEGO ---- The Boston Red Sox advancing to the World Series has cost the Chargers a quarterback.

"I'm going to retire Saturday morning, then re-sign Sunday morning or Saturday night,'' Doug Flutie said.

"That would be fine,'' coach Marty Schottenheimer said, with a smile.

What isn't OK with Flutie is him missing Saturday night's excitement in Fenway Park. Flutie isn't really ready to hang up his cleats for Game 1, although he admits it's tempting.

Ah, the power of the Red Sox.

"I used to ride out there to the games when I was kid,'' said Flutie, who is seldom minus a Red Sox jersey or cap. "For $10 we could take (public transportation) get a bleacher ticket and have a couple of bucks left over.''

6. ooh.. don't poo-poo a nickel, lisa
A nickel will buy you a steak and kidney pie, a cup of coffee, a slice of cheesecake and a newsreel, with enough change left over to ride the trolley from Battery Park to the polo grounds.

4. No he doesn't
That guy extorted $2million a season from the CFL, a league of teams that can't afford it. I'll never have any respect for that POS

I have a Fenway bleacher seat ticket stub in a box of old keepsakes, price on it is three dollars. From when I lived near the ballpark during college, which was only -- um, well, 20 years ago. Which would be two, um... two dec-- ... heh heh, whadda ya know? Nevermind! :7

5. good.. stay there, dougie
this guy is poison in the club house. Instead of carrying a clipboard and mentoring Breese like any other veteran backup QB in the league would, this tool stalks the sideline with his helmet on, moping about and praying that Drew gets hurt, or performs badly so he can get in the game and get his precious rushing touchdowns. Breese has finally relaxed and is showing his true potential now that Shittenheimer busted Flutie Flakes down to third string, and is no longer breathing down Drew's back. Doug Flutie is looking out for Doug Flutie, and doesn't give two shits about the team. Look what he did to the locker room up in Buffalo.
