How can court be in session during (possible) game 7 of the World Series?

This is unAmerican. Where is the Patriot act when you need it?

1. When they question you for the jury pool...............
just tell them (ala George Carlin) "I'm perfect for this trial, I can tell if a person's quilty from a mile away". You'll be on your way home in minutes. ;)

It was a trial involving a car dealer and I told them my first job was at a car dealership, and I knew all their wily ways. The prosecution batted their eyes at me...the defense team escorted me to the door.

Maybe you can just say something crazy when the lawyers interview you...they'll let you go real quick.

Murder trials are kind of fun. I've been on 3 juries and actually it's kind of interesting.

9. Sure, the last time they called it was a trial about an old guy beat near
to death with a shovel, down by the river by a bunch of teenagers.

I was looking forward to that when they plea bargained at the last minute.

But (possible) GAME 7 ???

6. they will ask you if serving will cause "undue
hardship" - just say "yes" - it's not that hard to get out of serving (although I believe everyone should serve at least once to get a "taste" for the system. IMHO)

11. Hey, me too!
I don't follow sports, though; my reason for asking for a delay is my service is that I have an important business meeting that day. Now that I have actually written that out, I feel like a corporate tool. Yikes!

15. In my county, you can do that without going to the courthouse
You can ask for a delay of up to 90 days (IIRC) by returning that part of the summons form - it doesn't let you off the hook, but it does make service more convenient. I personally would love to serve, just not on that day! (Plus, it's the day before the election: how could I concentrate on anything?)

I hope the Series is over in 5 for your sake :-)
