Poll question: How many of you have a will? |
|
Just asking, not looking for business.

1. Do you mean the kind of will that controls your estate |
|
or the kind of will that makes you work to kick bastards like * out of office?

2. How many of you have a valid Health Care Power Of Attorney? |
|
If you don't, you really should.
I have a copy of a really iron-clad and workable instrument that, in my humble opinion, is ideal for the worst-case scenario, i.e., you are unconscious and unable to let the medicos know what you want. It covers the issues of personal liability on the part of the people you name as your agents, and it makes all of your wishes explicit in a clear and concise manner.
If people are interested, I could post a printable copy on my website. Think that's a good idea?
And, yes, I'm an old attorney.

An old LEFTIE attorney...................

4. I just went to a seminar which dealt with making sure... |
|
that your law office is tidy when you die.
So that your survivors can make sense of who owes you money and what cases you were working on.
And also reminded us to get a will done.

3. Not yet, but I'm working on mine |
|
I have no descendants nor a spouse, so it should be pretty straightforward.

I'm totally lawyered out, and it's a good thing!
Edited - I also have a Durable Health Care Power of Attorney. I do not want to become another Terri Schiavo, god bless her.

6. I'm writing one as I speak... |

Including funeral arrangements, mine are simple, just put my body in a garbage bag(May need two) and dump it in the Mississippi River. What can I say, I'm cheap, even got the bags at Save A Lot! :)

7. I think you may need a permit to dump yourself in the river. |
|
Check with the local officials.

I think I saw this on "Law and Order."
It did not end well.
You might want to consider another dumping ground.
Right now, the only place I could suggest would be my former husband's front lawn, but that would be wrong.
