5. Watched the trailer for this movie. It looks great. My Mom loved Bobby
Darin, and I saw him on bandstand. You have to be able to relate to the times, but Darin was cool for his day. That was back in the days of Fabian, Anka, Rydell, etc.

There's some names for you young 'un to google. I was a kid, but not too young to remember the times and the people. Lots of people like to pretend that those were the days of 'squeaky clean' stars, singers, and starlets. The stars, singers, etc., of today have NOTHING on those guys when it comes to wild. All they have is better drugs.

10. Be still my heart. Kevin as Bobby is too delicious for words..
I also love Bobby Darin, and "Beyond the Sea" is incredibly haunting fo rme. So much so, that it never fails to choke me up.

12. Spacey is truly channeling Bobby Darin here
A lot like the way Val Kilmer channeled Jim Morrison in THE DOORS

Instant Classic on the way

13. Not a moment too soon.
Darin was only 37 when he died in 1973, and when was his peak? The first half of the sixties? Spacey's arguably too old for the role.

Still, I like Spacey, and I love Bobby Darin's work. I may just have to willingly suspend my disbelief.

16. Spacey may be a bit long in the tooth. Still, I can't imagine who
could do a better job portraying Bobby. They're very similar physically. And, Spacey is a great actor. I'm sure he will do the part justice.

20. Totally agree.
I was soooo looking forward to this project with Spacey when it was first mentioned back when Spacey was still in his 30's.

Anyway, do yourself a favor and buy a BC CD! The one from the Ultra-Lounge series is primo!

18. Spacey will nail it . he can do no wrong
Gary Wacko Busie ( spelling ? ) did a great Buddy Holly film about a million years ago......Bobby Darin was supposed to have been a wild man dressed up in a Vegas disguise.

19. finally, been waiting 2 years for this film.
i am a true bobby darin fan and love his music and his craftsmanship.

his tv show that was a summer replacement for the dean martin show in the early '70's was a classic venue for darin who could act, sing and do comedy.

there are few artists who could do what darin did; sing, write great songs, and act.

darin sang the best rendition of a frank sinatra song sinatra never sang with "beyond the sea"...and did it better sinatra could have even in his prime.

i am going to enjoy the film. spacey has expressed a desire to do this film for a decade or more, and his own voice is not bad if you have ever heard him sing.
