8. I live with a long-haired white german shepherd
that is virtually indistinguishable from a white wolf. In fact, a family member saw a picture I have at work of an old white wolf my class "adopted" several years ago; he was in a rescue facility and we raised funds to care for him that year; I got a certificate and a photo. When my mom stopped by last week, she saw the picture of the wolf and thought it was the dog. I don't have a pic of the dog to post, or a copy of the framed wolf on the wall at work, but here's a couple I like to take their place!

10. aww. our long-haired white German shephard passed away in Feb.
She was one of the best dogs we ever owned, and she did indeed look like a wolf.

Rest in peace, Sheba

18. I believe you.
My wonderful friend is my foster-dog; he's been here about 6 months, and may be with me for the duration. He's about 13, stiff, and arthritic, but as sweet-natured and gentlemanly as they come. He's good company for my young dog, (18 month aussie), even though he can't play with her.

20. Yeah, Sheps are the best.
It's like they just intuitively know what they're supposed to do...they're obedient, protective, intelligent. Before Sheba we had one named Shadow that was 32% wolf. She was definitely at the top of my list of favorite pets as well.

Think of all the wolf packs that have been exterminated under the Bush Administration. Now he's using them to scare people.

15. Yes, we must all vote for Bush before the wolves take over!!!
They will encroach upon our habitat, destroying our way of life and killing us all in mass numbers...

...oh, wait, that's what we did to them.

Don't start mistakenly referring to me as ZombyWolf like they did in the early days of DU, lol.

I love wolves, and coyotes too. Hell, I love all kinds of noble creatures. :-)

Not big on our own species most days...

Because it is 22 tonight where I live, and it saves electricity just using natural freezing to get me through to Election Day in one frazzled, frozen mess. :D

Edited on Fri Oct-22-04 11:43 PM by ZombyWoof
Is wild, wild country! I toughened up for it by hanging out in GD2004 way too much.

32. I am further south
South of the Grand Canyon, the very southern edge of the plateau, lol... but since Colorado is one of the '4 corner' states, we'll be neighbors! :hi:

(and if you go, good luck! That would be great if you do that!)

But I've gotta hit the hay.

So, from one plateau dweller to another, g'night!

On edit: good luck with the freezing weather! Stay warm, or stay frozen, or whichever you'd prefer.

34. Well, she's mostly Timber Wolf
with a little Malamute. Her name is Nakoma, and she's the neighborhood wolfdog (legal pets in many states, believe it or not). She's the most well behaved pet at the dog park!

She was really turned on by this golden retriever (that's why her hair is standing on end, lol!)

My family used to own a shephard/timberwolf hybrid. She was a great dog, and really beautiful too.

36. Yeah, her owner takes great care of her
he cooks her meals every day (free range beef, venison, garlic and vegetables). She has the softest, cleanest fur. She's really obedient, too. Just a wonderful pet!

My dad had a shephard/ Timber wolf mix growing up as well. He just adored that animal.
BTW, they're no longer called hybrids; DNA studies have proven that wolves are just another breed of dog. (The founding breed, of course). Thus the newer term "wolfdog".:-)
