They try to turn all the football conversations into political ones, basically Kerry-bashing.

There's like only one other person on there who's a liberal. As far as I know, we're outnumbered at least 8 to 2.

2. The Utes board I post at is pretty even.....

They had a poll asking who people would vote for in the election, Bush won but he didn't crack 50% (basically rest were Kerry and OTHER).

But it doesn't stop the knuckle-draggers from doing so.

It sucks, cause these are Bison fans just like me.

5. I really hate political discussions on boards

that are intended for hobbies, sports, etc. I guess some on the left are also guilty, but the right wingers seem to feel like they are entitled to cut and paste the latest garbage from freepland or whatever slum they spend the rest of their time on. They are absolutely astonished that ANYONE could possibly not agree with them. Every day streams of hate, hate, hate, hate, hate from the same clique.

How to respond is a big dilemma if the board rules don't bar it. Engage and feed the trolls or ignore and let it scroll off? It's tough when you can demolish them so easily. People who shared an interest and get along just fine end up hating each other. Lord these people are toxic.

I haven't posted any sports-related messages since joining DU, but am thrilled to find others interested in football (and hopefully other sports as the seasons march on) here!

Just curious if anyone else here follows the Southeastern Conference? Would love to discuss this VERY interesting day (which is not quite over yet - Georgia/Arkansas game is a barn-burner at the beginning of the 4th quarter!)
