Whatever happened to Take Me to Out to the &*%$@ Ball Game?

You know, I love my country and all, but I've had ENOUGH of this nationalist fervor. Can't we watch a freaking ball game without having to stop for yet another moment of national unity? Do we have to listen to yet another earnest crooning of the alternate anthem? Can't we just have fun yelling the song that's SUPPOSED to be sung during the 7th inning stretch?

The Sox losing their lead also has me grouchy, but this 7IS thing has been ticking me off for a while now. :grr:

OK, the Star Spangled Banner has become the standard peon to open every m,ajor sporting event in the US. I can accept that OK. But this new addition is just too much. I am especially disgusted with the a TV network who uses a winner from one of their TV talent shows to perform it. Let's get back to a non-political/non-nationalistic ideological fun song that unites everyone....like, "Take Me Out to the Ballgame"?

Next year, maybe we can start an initiative to do away with it....start a campaign with MLB to say "enough is enough".
