How great was that Zell Miller impression |
|
in the SNL cold open? That had to be pretty physically taxing for Will Forte.
I'm looking forward to seeing Simpson's melt down.
I'm on the west coast so no spoilers in this thread please. Anybody else watching that wants to comment on the show as it happens feel free to post here.

2. Pretty good musical monologue |
|
Any time they get all the ladies out there I'm in favor of it.
I'm wondering if the second musical number might be cut out of the west coast showing. We'll see I guess.

5. The Sky Captain send up missed |
|
Despite some nice work from Rachel.
The Dyson Toliet? Ehh. That's the first commercial parody this season that hasn't really worked.

What happened when they went to commercial? On TV they showed the band for a few seconds then cut to commercial.

6. They have TV monitors around the studio... |
|
so you can see what it looks like on TV (for when they do effects and stuff.) When she went off the stage she just ran backstage.
She also was supposed to be in two skits. The dress rehearsal is a half-hour longer, and they cut skits (based on the audience's reaction) to fit it to the regular time.) Well, BOTH of her skits were cut.
I heard an woman who works for NBC telling someone that her "throat hurt." But people I knew who went to the dress rehearsal said she forgot the words to her OWN song!!

7. That's what it seemed like to me |
|
that she forgot what she was supposed to be singing. It was pretty funny, but I feel sorry for her in a way.

The one doing the Zell Miller impression- Was it my imagination, or was he making his face go red? More than once...

8. Miller's impression was the best thing so far on the show |
|
that and the impression of Chris Matthews!
shrub didnt look like as big of an idiot (in the mock debate) as he does in real life. They made him smarter, which is hard to do, so I give them credit :)

9. One too many debate sketches I think |
|
Although I thought they pointed out the ridiculousness of the Mary Cheney media focus pretty well.
I love Forte's Bush. It is spot on.
The Paris Hilton bit was okay. So far the show is pretty lackluster.

And yes it looked to me like she was lip synching that one too.

13. Weekend Update isn't there yet. |
|
Although it has less to do with integrating Amy and more to do with some piss poor writing.
The O'Reilly "Curious Engorged" joke was good as was the Laura Bush rehabing teenage delinquents by marrying them and bearing their children.
But the turtle writing joke was weak and the Ghost of the Bambino bit went nowhere.
That clip of Castro falling is hilarious every time I see it. That is some face plant.

14. That T-Bone sketch saved the show |
|
That was the most impactful political sketch they've done so far this season. Kudos!
Trump promo was funny but too long.
When do they play the second musical number? It's getting late and I think they're gonna cut it.

That was pretty embarrassing!
What was she thinking doing that stupid little dance? That made the whole event 10 times worse.
Those guitar players sure looked amused.
