Poll question: What's The Best Halloween Candy To Receive As A Kid?
Personally, I was always fond of Three Muskateers bars. My least favorite was anything with coconut in it.

5. Only a few at a time?
That's not what you do with Halloween candy. You wolf it down. Candy corn takes the fun out of wolfing down the stash...and when I was it kid, it often ended the night for me. Yuck!

4. I loved candy corn as a kid. you could eat it forever
Edited on Sun Oct-24-04 02:15 PM by qnr
With candy bars, you felt obligated to eat them in one gulp. Could stick them in your pocket, pick the lint off 3 weeks later, and they were still good. And this was a good thing, when you grew up so poor that you put tabasco sauce on your catsup sandwiches, just to make them last longer.

Surprised I didn't go with what I consider "Food of the gods" - Reeses, but went with my gut instinct of candy corn.

6. Definitely Reese's
Which, by the way are even more deliscio-so when you pop them in the freezer for a while.

8. I remember a house that everyone wanted to check out---
they were giving whole full size boxes of chocolate covered cherries! While I was always a Reese's or M&M fan as a kid-- how could you resist the gluttony of an etire box of chocolate covered cherries!

9. Snickers Bars
were my favorite things to get when I was a kid. I liked Three Musketeers too, but I hated the popcorn balls, and didn't care much for the candy corn.

17. they come in a little roll about the thickness of a pencil

clear cellophane wrapper, pastel colors, mildly tart, little round things when you get them out ...

I'm sure you'd recognize them if you saw them, actually, as they're kind of a ubiquitious Halloween candy. Just had to put in at least one vote for them, since they were always my favorite as a kid :)

15. Anything but apples
I grew up in a small college town where nobody ever heard of tampering with Halloween giveaways, so lots of the nice Episcopalian moms wearing sensible shoes gave away apples. Yuck. Bruised and mushy by the end of the night and who wants to eat apples for Halloween?

My godmother was the best. She gave away pieces of real sugar cane to chew on - made a huge mess and freaked out our parents.

I love them and that is one of the reason I am on a diet now to lose some weight.

I want to get down to my fighting weight by election day.
