The slapstick was excellent. The little details, like how the little French kid's fudgebar had its own string, were pretty clever. You have to see this movie in a theater, because it needs to be BIG and LOUD for the sledgehammer humor to work--especially the blow-up-everything approach of the stupid American "world police."

Strangely, the audience that busted out laughing at all the stuff that made neocons look stupid quit laughing at the stuff that made liberal Hollywood look stupid. Trey and Stone's attempts to parody Michael Moore were a total flop--the audience was dead silent when that was going on. But that less-funny stuff doesn't happen until the second half of the movie.

They also overuse the F word in their songs--that amateurish 7th-grader humor (like the puppet sex scene) is more silly than edgy. There's no real political bite to this movie. If any political viewpoint gets bit, it's the crass xenophobia of the Right and the damn-the-consequences militarism of the neoconservatives.

Mostly it's good, honest, post-post-modern gross-out humor. I suggest grabbing a matinee coz it's worth $7.50, not $9. But I had fun.
