2. It was one I'd never heard before
and it was with, I think, Melissa Etheridge.

I don't know, anyone have any idea?

3. It's an old '60s song by
the The Chambers Brothers. Time Has Come Today. The original is about 12 minutes long. If you ever watch the movie "Coming Home" it's the song that plays when Bruce Dern kills himself toward the end.

4. It's a duet with Cheryl Crowe from his "Sidetracks" cd. Originally
done for movie about Abbie Hoffmann that starred Vincent D'onofrio and Jeananne Garafolo.

5. I remember when the Chambers Brothers sang it....
Edited on Sun Oct-24-04 07:29 PM by charlyvi
It was kind of a sixties anthem. I still like their version best, but Earle's is okay. I should have said in my above post that it is a cover of the old Chambers Brothers song--it isn't original with Steve Earle.

7. No one could do THC as well as the Chambers Bros. One of the
best songs to come out of the late 60's. Captures the spirit of that very interesting period in American history as well as any song recorded then.

8. Saw the Chambers Brothers, live, 68, Newport Beach Ca Rock Festival
... awesome event!
Everyone (thousands!) up on feet, jumping every time they yelled, TIME!
Great memory....

oooh, dating myself, again. (and it's not one of those fun dates)

6. Steal This Movie.
Cool, I've seen that movie a few times but don't remember that song. I've heard the original Chambers Brothers version, but had no idea Steve had overed it.
