How Do I Get A Dem Radio Talk Show or Strategy Gig??? |
|
Have a question for the kind folks here . . .
I've become horribly political since 911. I'm a strategy MBA who watches with dismay how the democratic party had no strategy for the 2002 midterms, just reactionary tactics, mostly just being up in arms at the latest repuke move.
Furthermore, they countered a hard right administration with a centrist movement, setting the general expectations somewhere in the middle of the right wing. Is this what our party wants to take the country, in the middle of the right wing?
Finally, this whole idea of trying to win on domestic issues was negligent, I repeat negligent strategy. When Bush can control where the battle will be played out (foreign or domestic) it is just dumb to hope you can win on domestic issues, assuming all along that is where the battle will be fought while having no control over where it will be fought. I repeat negligent.
Anyway, I became convinced the dems need cut-throat mba types that can think like a republican, the right wing is full of these sinister types. We have what? polysci majors, human interest majors etc . . .
Not to diss or be arrogant but no pub can win an argument with me. I'm a damn hawk and people keep telling me I should have a radio show. I know how to push buttons and entertain.
So any advice on how to get into strategy or radio? Any links or job openings. If I was a bit younger I'd volunteer for a campaign and get some experience in politics but I have bills to pay and, honestly, I think I can be incredibly beneficial to the party now. Any angels in our midst?
Sorry if this sounds like a lame cover letter. Help is much appreciated. Thanks!

1. If you're serious, and motivated |
|
then you might start by doing a little research on who and what Clear Channel is and represents; - just so you know what you're up against.
Then you might talk with some of the respected names in leftist talk radio like Guy James or Randi Rhodes.
And my final bit of advice would be to learn a little humility. There are some excellent strategists and remarkabl on-air talents with progressive leanings. They're just not getting the air time that the right-wing is, -and there's a reason for that.

2. A possibility would be a radion station on the internet. |
|
As far as I know, it's easy to set up. You can operate out of your home. Software was cheap - $40 maybe? Then you could find others of like-mind and have a scedule and very little overhead.
