Who's watching CNN?
Edited on Sun Oct-24-04 07:20 PM by JonathanChance
This special on the fundies is scary.

We are watching the face of fascism in America.

We must see to it that these religious fanatics are defeated.

Hopefully she'll have a nice rebellious period when she becomes a teen.

That preacher guy says that we are afraid of the fudies.

Damn straight we are. A USA under Talibornagain rule scares the fuck out of us.

We must rise against their coming.

22. I worked with a fundie a few years ago and she tried forcing her
crap down everyones' throats at work. Finally some high up boss had to tell her to quit the bullshit and keep her religion /politics out of the faces of the employees. She would do things like scream at the top of her lungs against Clinton but had no problems with gOP types doing the same thing.

7. WYSIWYG! I live in Spartanburg for 6 years.
I lived in Greer, SC, which is in Spartanburg County. It's a very different area! Salesmen I knew told me that you couldn't sell anything in that town if you weren't born there. Hilton wanted to build a very nice hotel in the downtown area, and they said NO! They like the way their town is, and they don't want anyone else coming in.

BTW, they all do a lot of preaching and damning of sinners, anddrinkers are the devils children, but as the trash man told me..."Don't check their trash bags!"

19. The most frightening part of this program is that they really would
rather be dead, along with their children!

Did you hear that woman, mother of that cute little girl, who said she hopes the rapture comes quickly. "The more I see of this world, the more I hope Jesus doesn't tarry!"

I am Catholic, and I've always been told Jesus would come back to earth some day, and the good people would go to heaven with him and the bad would go to hell. But I sure don't ever remember hoping that it would be TOMORROW!

What's really the difference between these folks and Bin Laden? Both believe they are right, the world is wrong, and it's better when you die!

21. Fundamentalism on this level should be considered a mental illness.
When you are actually wishing that you, yor loved ones and the entire world are dead, you have problems.

23. I wish I could believe you, but can they ALL be crazy?
I believed that about the weird leaders that had their followers drink the kool-aide, and the guy in Waco, but there seems to be so many with this phylophy today, and they aren't, or at least don't seem to be part of a cult.

25. they sort of remind me of the early Christian martyrs in their ardor
but the early Christians didn't try to shove their views down everyone else's throats. I think the fundies are not crazy but they lack something in the logic department, like critical thinking skills and a few other departments, like rage control, etc

Both cults and the fundies read out of the same playbook
