Dr. Phil bugs the s**t out of me! |
|
He's on TV tonight with a weight program. He looks like a bit of a porker himself. There is just something about the guy that drives me nuts. He is always right and he talks at people. And his eye twitches. :eyes:

him ever since he had a show on shortly after the war... he had these guests on, opposing views of course, and he just treated the liberal, anti-war woman like absolute SHIT! very condescending to her... i put two and two together: knew he was from texas, must be a big ole bush supporter... i haven't watched him ever since...
((and i refuse to ever watch oprah again, or support her, for having arnold on her season premiere)) fuck 'em both.

|
Not all of us Texans support Bush*. However, I didn't catch that segment of the Dr. Phil show you are referring to. Just heard that Oprah is apparently an Arnold fan, well I never watch her anyway. Just wondering what her agenda is, getting involved in California politics. BTW, I am a Californian native. Born and raised and lived in the state up until 10 years ago. Can't begin to say how much I miss my home state! My best wishes to my fellow Californians!

3. he just annoys me because... |
|
...he's so popular for speaking common sense. You mean to lose weight I need to stop overeating and start exercising? You mean I should leave my jackass of a husband? You mean if I'm not happy with some aspect of my life I should actively try to change things? WOW, what a brilliant man you are! :eyes:

29. But how many people will come out and say that? |
|
most weight loss programs on the market focus on 'fast and easy'. He is much more realistic. There is a program by Phil Kaplan that he comes out and says is not easy, but it works if you can do it.

even though he seems to be bit of a media creation. Not sure he is a "porker". He is a big guy. We grow 'em big in Texas, LOL. He seems like a no nonsense kinda person, tells it like it is. To say the least, I think he gets off on the limelight afforded him lately. Fifteen minutes of fame and all. :-)

he's earned his chops AFAIAC. He spent years listening to people's self obsessed whiny ranting. "WAAAAA I keep doing the same thing and getting the same results, WAAAAAAA"...... so how's that working for you?

He's the male version of Dr. Laura, maybe a little less nasty. By the way, whatever happened to Dr. Laura?

I do agree with his well-stated and thoughtful and logical position on NOT spanking children. ESPECIALLY not spanking infants and toddlers.

The whole point of that show is not Dr. Phil, it's the messed up guests. They're there so that people can take pleasure in their misery and feel like maybe they themselves not so bad off after all. Kind of like Springer, but with a psychological angle so that it doesn't feel quite so trashy and viewers can justify it.

the reasons I hate those kind of shows. I do not want to watch other peoples misery and I don't wanna watch people getting busted on Cops. It hurts my heart to watch those kind of shows. I call them 'the dumbing down of America shows'

That's the kind of thinking that can lead to all kinds of horrible fates like liberalism and obsessive compulsive donating to the Dean campaign.

|
she's 45 and lives with me (that alone ought to tell ya something) but its always, Dr Phil says this, Dr. Phil says that. I have'nt heard Dr. Phil say anything to his poor, attention seeking nit wits that the average person with a little common sense on the street could'nt tell them. His benifactor (Oprah) is his claim to fame. Must be nice to be able to ride a gravy train like that.

17. He is scum just waiting to be discovered |
|
There is something seriously weird about him that is bound to come out sooner or later... he has sex slave boys chained up in his basement, or he gets caught by the NJ State Troopers in a Turnpike Men's room with a 12-year-old and some crank, or he has bodies buried in his mother's back yard.
Something is not right with this guy.

I can't stand him. I've never actually watched his show but I've seen him during guest appearances on others'. I especially don't like his take on weight loss. I know many people who follow his every word as gospel but there's just something about him that bugs me to no end!
I consider him the flavor of the month in media-run psychology.
