15. I work the same hours
but live close enough to work to miss both sunrise and sunset. We do have a big screen at work showing what it looks like outside (no windows).

2. Take up astronomy on the weekends.
That's what I did when I worked night shift. That way I was still "on schedule" when I came back to work after the weekend. It's a good hobby.

4. Good idea
Now that I'm done with college. I used to do my homework on my evenings off. These days I surf the net, read, and watch infomercials. And I live in Arizona where the skies are clear all the time.

11. I used to do that too
here in Austin at Motorola, at least until the great layoffs of 2001. I loved the job. I was in the CMP section running wafers through machines. How glamorous. What do you do?

18. You're kidding!
I was in CMP for 6 years. Now I'm in automated wafer handling, AKA, the stockers. Were your CMP's from Applied Materials?

Unfortunately it was still in Santa Clara when I went through vendor training so I never got to visit your lovely city.

10. I used to work similar hours
I am a night person and miss them. Are you paid more, for working nights? You should be. I was, but, little did they know, I would have expected to be paid more for working days! I preferred nights. :-)

Pretty nice. I'd miss it for sure if I went on days.

12. I worked nights once, too. My biological clock has never been the same.
That's partly why I'm still up right now, posting on DU. It's way too easy to slip back into being nocturnal for me after working nights. It's difficult to be productive when you're awake while everyone else is asleep and most places are closed.

13. I work the night shift for
a well-known shipping company (hint: it starts with "U" and ends with "nited Parcel Service" ;))

Granted those shifts are only 10:30-3:30, but it's a pretty rough 5 hours.

23. We got stomped by the Sox
The Cardinals pitching has been sub par so far, and the Red Sox have been effective at shutting down the meat of the Cardinals lineup.
