If you are under 50, the max for 2004 is $3500 and for 2005 $4000.
If you 50 or over, the max for 2004 is $4000 and for 2005 $4,500.
The additional $500 is the catch-up contribution for us old farts. LOL!

Think I read where those "catch-ups" were an attempt to get more people invested in the stock market. Ever since Bush, I have ceased to invest in anything riskier than a savings account.
